I just started this book, and i read up to chapter 4. This book is about  a guy named Greg who loves to live places where there are winds and water. One day he went to the ocean with his sailboat, he saw a small boat near the mid ocean, he was curious because he didn’t see anybody standing on the boat, so he got closer and jumped into the boat. RIGHT there, a guy came out with a knife on his hand and pinned him down, and held the knife to his neck. He was breathing hard and scared. After few minutes, he finally started to talk in a lower voice, “You tell, I kill.”

I kNow something is going to happen and it will be interesting !!!

You Hear Me

This is a poetry book, I’m just picking up a poem and write some thoughts about it!

This poetry book has many poems written by teenages age 12-18, the author wanted to share the conflicts that teens are facing and and he put them into a poetry book. One poem that I think is interesting is called Just Because, the poet started Just Because on every 4 line, for example first line he wrote Just Because I’m ……. he explained it in details in the next 3 lines and started a new line with Just Because. I found that interesting because I like the way it is written and I want to write a poem like that one day.

In chapter 8 and 9, the main character(Bobbie Jo) brought her horse to the barrel race. There are many competitors, but only first five could enter the final race, of course Bobbie and her horse got into the finals. The first four went one by one, the best record was seventeen-six, which means the main character has to beat that time, after her horse and she finished the run, they announced the winner who had seventeen-three, Bobbie was so excited and she almost that Cole McCall was there with her. After training and all that, they finally made it to the top where they wanted.

BUT something happened on the way home….

In chapter 7, the main character gets more confident with her horse and she rides on her through the field. She still wants to know more about the horse, for example she wants to see if the horse needs special training in order to win the barrel race. She is wondering if there’s a name that best fit with this horse. Cole McCall came around when he was done working, he suggested some names like Blue, Moon or Crescent. She doesn’t like any of that, she is still looking at her horse, thinking about a name that would fit with her.

During chapter 5 and 6, the main character was taking care of her horse at home all day, she told Cole Mcall that her dad needs a person to work for him, and if he wants the job he will gets employed again. She was wondering if he’s going to come. And at last he did, he works at there all day and he liked the job.

I think what will happen next is that Cole Mcall would help taking care of the horse and one day the horse will become the champion of the barren race.

In chapter 3, the main character took her horse back, thanks to her classmate Cole Mcall who doesn’t really talk to her all the time, but he is a tough guy. He helped her get the horse into the truck so she could take it home, just because that, Cole’s boss came(Cole is working around the auction market) and told him that he’s fired because he was supposed to work instead of helping other people. Cole was really angry at the boss but he didn’t do anything violent, instead he was begging but the boss walked away.

I think the boss was being a little mean because he should give him a chance instead of firing him, he didn’t really do anything bad other than leaving his work place without telling his boss. BAD BOSS!!!

I just started reading this book, I think it’s going to be interesting because so far what I know about the book is that the main character bought a horse in the auction market, she spent all her saving on this blue horse. She thinks that one day this horse will be the champion of barrel race. When she went to the market and ready to pay, she realized that she missing a ten dollars bill, the total cost is $690, she only have 680. Guess what happen, the clerk said he will give her a half hour to get her money before he will resell the horse in the market again. She started to get nervous and where in the world she could get a ten dollars bill, her parents are out working, so what is she going to do???

After finish reading this book, I think it’s pretty good because the whole story is talking about how did Jeffery Magee(Maniac Magee)survive when there were so many people made fun of him. His parents died when he was little, he grew up in his uncle and aunt’s house. But he wanted a real home, and he finally found one in the end of the story.

                                   Say NO to Alcohol

I remember when I was nine, there was something happened in my life that I will never forget. It was hard to believe someone like my uncle  would get drunk because he barely drinks alcohol. I think drinking alcohol makes you do stupid things and it makes you lose your mind.

I knew it was coming, he must be drunk. “Boom,”! The door closed, I was awake by this terrible sound wave that traveled through my bedroom door. I wasn’t sure what to do, should I go down and take a look. But I wasn’t brave enough to do that, so I stayed on my bed. Few minutes passed by, I heard another sound, this time I decided to go down to my uncle’s room and take a look. It gets darker and darker when I walked to his room, I smelled lots of alcohol spilled on the floor, and I saw him laid on the floor with tons of alcohol. He must drink a lot of them, he couldn’t stand up, and he couldn’t even say a word without making any other sounds. He had no idea what he was doing. I couldn’t do anything to help him because I was afraid that he would hit me.

After what happened to my uncle, I promised to myself that I won’t touch my any alcoholic beverages when the time I grow up because I’ve seen alcohol can totally change someone’s mind and the way a person thinks. I also hoping that my uncle would get away from alcohol because he could achieve lots of things in his life and drinking alcohol can destroy his whole entire life.

There were million of cases in the history because of drunk driving. If people try to pay a little attention to others and be responsible for their actions. There wouldn’t be so many accidents. I personally hope that alcohol never exist in this world because it hurts you and other people.
